Day 1
We drove around New Orleans for a little while looking at the damage still left from Katrina. If you have not been to New Orleans since that happened, you really should try to see it. Words can not describe how much destruction was done. We parked in some random persons front yard because that was what everyone else was doing and had to walk thirty minutes to where my friends fraternity had set up. When we got there the frat guys showed us there moving truck full of 40 kegs, a couple couches, and a couple porter potties. I started off the day challeging my friend from the frat to a chugging contest because he said he was the best in his frat. After I beat him five times in a row, he finally agreed that I was better and that ment that I could beat everyone in his frat. Bad news for me because after that everyone in the frat felt that they had to challenge me, so the rest of the day is a little blurred.
By the end of the day I ended up winning almost $200 from guys betting that they or their friend could beat me. I was not as fortunate with getting beads though. When the parades started a group of us went to the front so we could get beads so we could give them away again. The only problem was the people on the floats did not want to give a bunch of guys beads, I guess we just didnt have the winning personalities they were looking for. I even carried around one of the guys, who was probably twenty pounds heavier than I am, around on my shoulders for a good 15 min, and we still only got a handfull of beads. We stumbled back into the lake house around 2 in the morning and went right to sleep.
