Mardi Gras 2008

At 6:15 p.m. on thursday of last week I got a phone call from JD, one of my best friends from Dallas, saying, "Dude throw a change of clothes in a bag and drive here now." I replied "why?" He said two words, "Mardi Gras." I replied, "Alright, I'm in." I hung up the phone, packed, and left for Dallas. JD and I have been getting into trouble together for as long as I can remember, and one of the reasons for this, is that planning ahead has never been high on either of our priority lists. When I got to Dallas, I decided to stop by my parents house to say hi before I left for New Orleans. They had no idea what was going on when I showed up, and when I told them that JD and I were about to leave for New Orleans the only thing they said was, "You are telling me that you just drove three and a half hours north so you could to drive eight hours southeast?" As soon as I heard that I knew that the trip was an awesome idea.

During the drive Jd informed me that there was actually some kind of a plan. Two of our Dallas friends, who are in an LSU Frat, were going to stay in New Orleans at one of their Frat brother's lake houses, and that we were going to stay with them. I was a little suprised that he had thought that far ahead, but I was glad we were not going to be sleeping in the car. We finally got to the lake house just as everyone was getting up and getting ready to start partying.
